    great! ??

    Hello,

    I know this post is old but I am also having a problem with gmaps being displayed when autoptimize is active. It’s not an api problem because when I deactivate the plugin the gmap appears fine.

    Can you let me know if possible what the fix for this was? Is there a way to tell autoptimize to ignore the gmap js?

    Thanks – andrew

    Just to add – this is what I currently have in the exclude field:

    seal.js, js/jquery/jquery.js

    well, I don’t know really, as it all depends on your context. so let’s ask some questions;
    * do you use a plugin to display google maps? which?
    * do you see a JS error on your browser console when the page load with JS autoptimized?
    * did you try with/ without “force into head” and/ or “also aggregate inline js” and/ or “try/catch” active?

    Hello Frank,

    Thanks for the reply.

    No, google maps is built in to the theme I use. I don’t see any error where the google map should be, all there is is a grey blank screen. re the other options, I will give it a try

    Thanks – Andrew

    Hello Frank,

    Ok, I have checked ‘Check this option for Autoptimize to also aggregate JS in the HTML. If this option is not enabled, you might have to “force JavaScript in head” and this seems to have fixed the problem.

    I don’t really understand how this option works – will this effect loading times?

    Thanks again – Andrew

    it won’t affect loading times, but keep an eye on AO cache size because that _could_ become a problem.
