Dear plugin devs! I seek your kind help, please.

I’ve had two people who ran into the following error on my page:

Error: Sorry, the nonce security check didn’t pass. Please reload the page and try again. You may want to try clearing your browser cache as a last attempt.

Reloading the page, clearing the browser cache, even changing browser did not do the trick.

I’ve already found a solution to the problem here…
    https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/excluding-nonce-from-cache/
… but just cannot find the option on the main settings page.

    Thank you!

    Hi @furzmaus,

Go to Easy Forms > Settings and you’ll see the main settings page. The options is right below the API key. See this screenshot: https://imgur.com/a/n9W6B5Y.

Also, make sure you’re on the latest version of the plugin! (Although the checkbox was added quite some time ago).

    Cheers,
    Kevin.

    Hi @yikesitskevin,

thanks for your fast reply. Really, I have no explenation on how I could miss it.
I switched it to “no” and hope that will help.

Any advice on what could happen now? More spambots might try to register?

    Thank you so much again!

You shouldn’t see an increase in spambots as that isn’t what the nonce protects you against (use recaptcha to prevent spam). The nonce is an extra security feature that tries to make sure that the request came from your form. Theoretically, someone could send “mailchimp subscribe requests” to your website from anywhere. The nonce helps prevent that. Does that make sense?

@yikesitskevin it does! Now everything’s clear. Thank you!
