Excluding post from category listing when viewing said post

Not sure if I can be clear, but I’ll try.

I’m trying to initiate a way when viewing a post, the sidebar will display other posts within that category while excluding the post you’re currently viewing.

This is probably posted somewhere within these forums, but I can’t seem to enter the proper keywords to get the results I want.

Any direction would be appreciated. Thanks!
