• Can anyone tell me why IE has to suck so badly… Aye caramba…
    Exhibit 1.1d is available.
    Changes:

    • Fixed preview selection problem.
    • Fixed client-side display of added images.
    • The code that Exhibit inserts into the post body when clicking on an image in the list is now configurable.
    • Added button to file-picker to add full-sized image tag to post body.
    • Added uber-popup code – Allows visitor to click through all images attached to the post without closing the popup.

    If you’re trying to do something in Exhibit and you think it should work but it doesn’t, please try it with FireFox before you report it so that I know whether to look at javascript or PHP. Please?

    Hehe. I think Chris Pirillo says it best here.

    I’m loving the new popup feature, but I’ve got one easy request. The functionality might already be there, but I’m just missing something in the config.
    Right now it seems that we have to choose between the thumbnails being centered on the preview screen with no captions, or them being floated left but with captions on the main post screen. Is there a way to make captions appear on the preview screen? To see what I’m talking about look at this:
    https://www.theglobalguy.com/category/antarctica-2004/page/2/
    The bottom post on the page has two preview images that are centered without captions. If I go to just that post’s page:
    https://www.theglobalguy.com/antarctica-2004/sunset-finally/
    then I get captions but everything is pushed to the left.
    Is there a simple way to get both?

    The only way currently to get captions on the previews is to use the preview_like_single option in the config. This makes the post appear like it does when it is displayed by itself no matter where it’s displayed — It will display all of your thumbnails with captions no matter where the post is.
    The post you use as an example could benefit from this option, and it is an option that you can turn on for individual posts, if you like. There ought to be an option in the Post Config dropdown that says “Show preview post like single post”. Use that one.

    did you get my e-mail, owen, or did someone eat it for breakfast? just checking ??

    RM, why don’t you come up with an 80 x 15px banner for exhibit, so I can put it in my links list and promote your software?

    @mufflonen:
    Sorry. I got your email. I’m notorious for ignoring my email over the weekend. I’m thinking about your problem, but just like before, editing captions works just fine on my system. ??
    @symantix:
    I’d love to do that. Perhaps when I take a break from writing this new lightweight Wiki plugin thinger. ??

    don’t worry, I just wondered if you’ve recieved it. it’s really weird… the ‘ – thing might be solvable though?

    Yeah, I’ve got fixes in for the single quotes already, thanks. It’s just a matter of adding slashes here and there.

    Would it be resonable to add a resize function to the rotation? On a site I admin, peoples always post gigantic images (from new many megapixels camera) . I be able to manually or automatically reduce the sizes would be wonderful.

    @rm, thanks..I played with my CSS a bit and finally got it where I’m nearly completely satisfied with the preview as single option. Actually, I think my only issue is a CSS issue that I’m just not sure how to solve. When I use the preview as single option (which is now my default), I can make the photos float right or left, but I can’t make them stay centered in the middle column. Any ideas on how to make them behave would be much appreciated!

    chrisada, can’t you use the downsample function in the config-file?

    Great plugin! One problem however: I can’t change the image caption on posts that I’ve made. I change the caption, click save. But it doesn’t save the new text.. :/

    It is a great plugin. good works. I am trying to implememnt to my site.
    I’ll use the user_dirs feature, but I got a question/suggestion.
    Is there any way to limit the number of photos each user could post?
    Is there any way to set a maximum spaces for each user to upload? Of couse there should be no limitation for those users with a user level higher than root_image_access.

    I’m still puzzling out the reason why some people can’t edit captions. I haven’t given up, I’m just still not sure why it works for some and not for others.
    There isn’t a way to limit the number of photos per each user. I think that would be difficult considering that Exhibit could have to count all of the images in subdirectories several levels deep.
    Perhaps a filesystem-based directory size quota would be better? Does your server have this option? I’m plucking features out of the air, here. ??

    I might’ve missed something, but I just did a fresh install of WordPress 1.2 and Exhibit 1.1d for a friend and now the preview image that appears looks different than it used to. The post preview image is now really tiny and it’s border box doesn’t wrap neatly around it like it used to, instead the single pixel gray border is as tall as the preview image with a width as wide as the main content column. Did this change with one of the newer Exhibit releases?
    Hopefully that made sense to someone…
