We hadn’t done any editing on our WP site for a few weeks until today.? On every existing page we bring up to edit, existing images (that were previously loaded into an image block from the Media Library) show the following message: “This block contains unexpected or invalid content.” After hitting the “Attempt block recovery” button the image reverts to the way it was.

We have auto-update on all our plugins including EWW (ver 7.2.0, updated 7/20/23). We also have Gutenberg v.16.2.1 (updated 7/14/23).

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Deactivate the Gutenberg plugin. Maybe there is a not yet well tested change in it by which existing image blocks are not recognized as such. If disabling the plugin helps, you can contact the Gutenberg developers to describe the problem with their plugin: https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/issues

Deactivating the Gutenberg plugin solved the problem. I will notify those developers directly. Thanks for the suggestion.
