    Hi.

I’m trying to have an existing product as a variaton of another product. The website I’m developing is about food, where you can choose a meal and select a variation for it. For example, pork ribbs with french fries. Pork ribbs is the main product and french fries is one of the variatons. There are others as well.

The thing is that these variations are also products, because you can buy them individually.

You would say: why don’t you add them as grouped or bundled? If I have them bundled, then there is no chance of choosing. If a set them as grouped, then you can only add one of the suggestions.

And, besides all this, the main product already includes the variation in the price. For example, the pork ribbs are $340. Any variation you choose will leave it with that price, despite the variations have their own price individually.

    Thanks.

    Hi @ignacioj

You might consider an extension like WooCommerce Composite Products.

Ok. But then, buyer has to choose an extra product with a price (french fries) and that price will be added to the total. And the total price already has that option included.

The main product has 13 variations to choose from and choosing one of them is included in the price.

Or, how could I set it to have the first option for free and the extra options, if one was selected, adds the price.

For example, the buyer enters the Pork ribbs that have a price of $340. It has 3 options inside: french fries ($60), mashed potatoes ($70) and salad ($80).

He may choose one of them for free and if he chooses at least one of the others, then the price changes. For example, he chooses french fries and there is no extra charge. So it remains in $340.

But then, he wants to add the salad. So the whole thing has now a total of $420.

Or the possibility of choosing only one variation from the composition.

    Hi @ignacioj

In that case, you might also look at WooCommerce Product Add-Ons. That extension allows you to create “add-ons” for your products. You can choose to either assign a price to the add-on or it can be included with no additional cost.

Also, if you opt for the WooCommerce Product Bundles extension, this use case may explain better how you can use it for your particular setup.

And finally, here is a use case that may better explain how WooCommerce Composite Products might work for this as well.

    Hi.

Thanks a lot for your answers. I will check this info and decide according to it.

    Thanks again.
