• Hi,

I’m working on a theme using custom menus (wp 3.0) and I wonder if there is any way to make child items expand vertically when their parent is clicked?!

    What I mean is this:

    Item 1
    Item 2
    Item 3

When I click Item 1, (it’s content opens and) the children become visible:

    Item 1
    – Child 1
    – Child 2
    Item 2
    Item 3

Anyone knows how to do that? This would make the custom menu feature just perfect…

Thanks for any kind of help,

  • Check out the TwentyTen theme’s CSS.

In TwentyTen just the horizontal menu expands. The vertical one (widget) lists all items at once.

Ah – in that case, try googling for a jQuery accordian script.

I want to do the same (basic) thing, and can’t find a solution anywhere. Has anybody figured out how to accomplish this yet?

Found a plug-in called Superfish Dropdown Menu that does exactly what you’re looking for BUT it causes errors in versions 2.9+. I have spent hours trying to fix the plugin and googling for other solutions only to find nothing. Any help would be appreciated.

    I need the same.

Two columns with expanding menu in left sidebar (with children pages).

did you find any good solutions ?
