    Hey there,

I couldn’t find anything like my question in the “read this first” post.

I have custom post types that act as a sort-of database of items. I then use my own shortcodes to pull the information from that database into normal posts.

Now, these are not custom fields, so I can’t add them to the box in the Meta tab of Rank Math’s settings. My test post is mostly just shortcodes.

My question is: is there, or can there be, an option to expand shortcodes before Rank Math displays the word count (and therefore before it calculates any other metric that relies on the word count)?

I made my own function to test out the theory for a back-office word count and the result is that the word counts are as follows:

    • Classic Editor’s Count: 30
    • Rank Math’s Count: 92
    • My Shortcode-Expanded Count: 934

I looked for options/filters but didn’t turn anything up. Thanks ??

    FJ
