Expansion doesn't work

I have “Parent Item As Link” turned on and now it doesn’t expand it just links to the page. I saw another user post about this. I followed the instructions of adding padding to the right but it still isn’t working. It won’t expand. I love the plugin but this functionality is key for me.
Can you help me?
