"Expecting" error message

    Hi,
    Today I edited the registration and login messages of my site. I have done this many times. Today I simply pasted

    at the end of the messages, before the ending ‘. When I tried saving the changes, WP deactivated the plugin and gave an error similar to:

    Unexpected ‘ (,’ expecting ‘) on line 580

    It’s something like that. Can’t remember exactly.

    I know I pasted in the correct place.

    Can you help?

    Actually, at the time I wrote my second post, I hadn’t figured it out. I was simply correcting what I typed on the first post.
    However, a few days I figured out that the New User Approve script didn’t like the br at the end of the sentence. However, I had enclosed my last word in the sentence in string tags, and so I tried putting the br tag inside of the strong tags, and it worked for some reason.
