Experimenting with Themes after custom work

  • Hi,

    About a year or so ago I hired a WP developer to create a new front page for my website. What she did was create a new child theme for my existing one and then used some page builder to design a custom front home page.

    It looked ok and I kept this till now.

    However I have noticed the site has been slower and any ads bring in lower revenue compared to before. Im not 100% sure her work or the theme is the cause but id like to test this theory without losing her work or the current site home page.

    So what I want to ask is this…

    In WP Themes section I just select a different theme and see if this makes any improvements, fine. But in doing this will I be able to revert back to her child theme without losing or breaking anything in case I see no benefits?

    (I do have weekly site backups)
