I’ve setup a site with custom post types using Types (https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/types/) and front end posting using CRED (I’ve also tried Ninja Forms) but when I create a post from the front end the expiration date isn’t set.

If the type is the regular “post” type then the expiry is set properly but if I use the custom post type then it is not. I have double checked that post expiration is enabled by default for that post type but it just doesn’t work.

Any ideas of what I can do?

  • I do not use any front end plugins, so I don’t have anything setup to debug/diagnose the issue. Is there anything else you can supply about the problem?

Actually this is now happening for all post types, pages, etc. and the only thing I can think of that changed is upgrading to 3.8.1 but I seem to remember it still working for regular post types after that but can’t say for sure.

Also, I unfortunately have not been able to produce any errors or anything even with debugging enabled. If there’s anything specific I can try that might help provide a clue I’d be happy to help.

Are you seeing this issue when posting via the default wordpress admin interface, or only with front end plugins?

Can you test posting something using the wp-admin backend and let me know if that works?

Sorry for the delay. I don’t have the plugin anymore as I had to find another solution but if I remember correctly expiry worked fine when posting via the admin interface but did not work when using front-end plug-ins.
