Expired Membership Remains in Active Mode

Hello,
I’ve recently installed the Paid Member Subscriptions free edition and I’m really happy with it, thank you for a great plug-in.
Yesterday though, one of the members’ subscriptions expired. I have set up a monthly subscription program, without recurring payments. So I was expecting that after the expiration the member would have no access to the restricted content and would renew the subscription once more.
Instead of that, one day after the expiration date, the membership remained in active mode and I had to input “expired” manually. Shouldn’t this happen automatically?

It’s cron job that executes once per day, so the worst case scenario is a 23:59 delay (and the average is 12 hours).
If that bothers you a lot, you can install a plugin such as:
https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-crontrol/
And have that cron job execute every hour or however.
