Our site uses a cronjob to create and update custom post types on my site. When the cronjob runs to update a current post (instead of overwriting it), I’m not sure exactly what it does to create the new post, but it adds a “-2” to the URL slug (or “-3” and so on depending on what the last one was). I’d like it to just overwrite what’s there and keep the URL slug the same.

I ran across the “Monitor changes to posts” drop-down in the “Options” area, but I’m not sure I understand what that’s doing. It’s set to “Modified Posts”. I set it to “Don’t Monitor” and it still added the “-2” to the slug.

Can you tell me if I’m anywhere close to what I’m trying to accomplish?
