We have a beta and live site, but the beta site has new designs, but does not have site kit

today we took it live but live excludes some things as we are still testing and proofing

but I want to set up site kit on the live site, but how do I export all settings to the beta/staging site ?

Thanks for getting in touch @startechmarketing, and great question regarding exporting all settings from your live site to your beta/staging site for testing. Depending on how you’re exporting or migrating data from your beta to your live site it may require a different approach. Are you using a migration plugin or a hosting related feature to migrate data? If so, you may wish to reset Site Kit before migrating from live to staging. Unfortunately this will mean you’ll need to set up Site Kit once more on your live site after backing up and restoring on staging.

Note also that we a guide on the plugin website in relation to using Site Kit on a staging site. You can use this after initially making a copy of your live site and applying this on your beta site.

Let me know if you have any further questions on this.

Thanks for the compliment, my beta/staging site does not have your plugin installed. I will use duplicator to create a package to bring to live site, then I will lose all my google site kit connections and settings, so i need to be able to export all site kit settings on live and import on beta/staging, thank you

That should work if you rest Site Kit before creating the Duplicator package and move to staging. Note that you can then reconnect the same Analytics account and property on the live site after you create a Duplicator package.

    Best of luck.
