export backup directly from file directory

Hi,

My hosting service seems to be creating problems with downloading a backup from the plugin, I have spoken to them, pretty useless response, so I am currently downloading it directly from the wordpress directory. My question is will I be able to import this file into all in one on another hosting service, or will I have to upload it into the all in one folder of the wordpress directory? ie, does the file downloaded from the all in one folder act exactly like a downloaded exported backup?
