Hi, I exported products from one site and want to import it to another site.
Because of the amount I exported several csv. But now most of them can’t be imported.
I get a message saying this file is not supported…
I haven’t changed anything after exporting

    Could you help?

  • I use a different plugin for import/export called WP All Import.
This is a cheap try but how about saving it as a CSV file with a different name?

    Howdy!

Sometimes you have to re-register a file type for WordPress. This is called a mime type setting. You can do this with for example: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-add-mime-types/ or manually as described here: https://amdrew.com/how-to-add-a-new-mime-type-to-wordpress/

    I hope this helps!

    Hi @katfrajoe!

Can you send a screenshot of the exact error you are seeing? Also, can you let me know what value you entered for the CSV file in the plugin settings? If not entered just right, it may still not work.

You can use https://snipboard.io/ to send screenshots here. You’ll just drag and drop the image into the window, and it will generate a URL to paste here.

    Thanks!

    Just found this:

    define( ‘ALLOW_UNFILTERED_UPLOADS’, true );

After adding this to my wp-config.php file I didn’t have any fault anymore.

The only thing I am experiencing now is that it seems to keep on loading… no progress. Any ideas how to fix this?

    Hi @katfrajoe

I’d recommend breaking up the CSV files into smaller chunks. Alternatively, making a copy, then removing the Images column can often speed up the process since the import of the CSV is part of the process that can take the most time.

As an aside – the warning you were seeing can also happen if you have HTML or similar in the contents of the CSV file. Such as paragraph tags in product descriptions.

    Thanks,
