    Hi!

I was wondering if there’s a way to import and export customers via a CSV format, either from another store or import new customers in bulk?

Something like that exists to export/import orders: Importing / Exporting Orders – Easy Digital Downloads Documentation

However, I could not find anything about doing the same for customers. I am doing a complete redesign of my site, and I’m working on a staging site while my prod site is still receiving orders from new customers. The problem is that someday I’ll have to import both to the new website. Orders are not a problem since it’s possible to export/import them. But customers? I had to connect them by hand (linking orders to wp_users) from this page /wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=download&page=edd-customers&page_type=customers

I’m using WP All Imports Pro and WP All Exports Pro with the User add-on. Unfortunately I did find the correct post type (doesn’t seem to be “users” or “downloads”).

Any help would be much appreciated! thanks!

Hi @nikkoboy customers are imported along with orders, so we don’t have a stand-alone customer export/import option.

If you are redesigning an EDD store it’s best to test the re-design on a staging site and then overwrite the updated files on your live site when you are ready to apply the changes.

    Hope that helps!

@dgoldak thanks a lot for your reply! I originally imported customers separately because I wasn’t sure this was done automatically with the EDD order import (I wanted to avoid orders not being linked to existing users, and seeing them linked to a random “guest” user).

I found a way around to not mess up with the dynamically created content of EDD (and not risk losing customers along the way, or not using the same IDs): I’ll continue working on finalizing my new website on my staging site, and when ready I’ll import then everything except all EDD’s DB tables and wp_user_meta and wp_user to the prod site. I ran a test on another staging site, and it worked. The most important parameter for me was to safeguard dynamically generated content by EDD’s (until the last second).

    Thanks again for your help!
