Hi, I’m using the free version and looking for a way to export the generated invoices. I’ve read your doc but it only mentions how to bulk export with the paid version. Surely there is a way to export the pdfs in the free version, even if it’s less practical? Are they stored somewhere under wp-content ? Can I get them from the dashboard?

The PDFs are temporarily stored on your server under wp-contents/uploads/wpo_wcpdf_xxxx. The “xxxx” here are random characters generated for the folder name.

Thanks for the reply. “Temporarily” means deleted after 7 days by default (I saw this parameter somewhere in the settings I think)? I don’t want these documents to be deleted as they can be asked by my tax service at anytime.

And what happens if they get deleted from this folder and then I use the “PDF invoice” action in my Woocommerce orders? Are the invoices generated again? With a new invoice number or the same?

    Yes, they are regenerate.

No. New invoice numbers are generated for new orders and not for re-generated documents

ok and so how to avoid having these very important documents deleted after 7 days?

The free plugin stores the PDF files in the temp folder because it is required for the attachments, but those files are not used in other contexts, e.g. when you request the documents in the dashboard or the My Account page, because they are generated on-the-fly by default.

In other words, when these temp files are deleted, it does not affect the invoice data.

However, if you want to store the generated PDFs, you’d need our Professional extension, which has the option to store the files on the server and also back them up to a Dropbox or other folder via FTP/SFTP upload. If you’d like to learn more about this, please contact us at [email protected], as we’re not allowed to discuss paid plugins on the forums.
