• I am trying to transfer/export content from one WordPress install to another. The content will be staying on the same hosting server (moved down a directory) but on a different database. It cannot stay on the same WordPress install because of some technical reasons. How can I move the content?

I don’t want to use the tools found in Tools -> Export. For some reason, when I do that, not all the content moves over.

    Thanks for any help!

I’ve looked at that, but that is just saying that you do not need to move your WordPress install. The problem is that I have two WordPress installs and I want to move the content from one to another. Thank you, though.

In that case, your only option is the export/import root via Tools.

Oh darn. Do you know why it would not export all the files then? For example, one time when I did it, it was missing some of the most recent posts.

Could have been a corrupted export file. Or your server may have timed out. If these are large files, it might be better to split them down into smaller chunks.

Do you know how to split them?

    Alright, thank you!

Just to let you know, you are not alone.
I have a similar situation with a ‘test’ version of my site and the ‘live’ version. It’s not a blog, it’s a site with multiple authors submitting content, mostly Events via the Events Manager Extended plugin, to the ‘live’ base. When I want to work on a new feature, I do it on the test base but it doesn’t have up to date content. When I use the Export tool, option all content, it doesn’t export my Events.

If you have found a solution, I would appreciate hearing about it.

Sorry, haven’t found a solution yet.
