export entry form to xls or another

    Hi, I can not make clean exports of form data with the only csv option offered. The data is not in columns and even with convert csv to xls, this is not the result I’m looking for (one column for each answer, as in the wordpress back office). Do you have a solution ?

    Thanks for using Caldera Forms. The export to CSV should be one field per column, one row per entry when exported from the back-end. You might also try the Google Sheets Integration – https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/cf-google-sheets/

    Thanks Josh, I’m testing the plugin google sheet, it works (but it’s not really what I need)…
    For the CSV export (what I would like), the problem is with the punctuation “,’;” in the message the column are created with punctuation in message (screenshot) :

    I’m not sure if this well help, but it might be Excel instead of the CSV file from Caldera Forms.

    Excel does not support opening CSV files with special characters, or UTF-8 characters, but there is a workaround. This might work in your case. It’s worth trying anyway:

    I found this after using an en dash between numbers, which is correct instead of a hyphen. The CSV file is perfectly fine, but Excel shows 2a€“49 when I open it, not 2–49. Now, importing it as above gets the punctuation file, but I’m still trying to work out exact settings to avoid some jumbled fields. If anything works for you, please let me know!

    Hmmm I’m a Mac, so I tried an export from Numbers to an XLSX file. That worked perfectly and with no settings to fuss with. If you have a Mac, Numbers is free from Apple. It think that workflow is more reliable.

    (Why Microsoft can’t figure out that Excel needs to be able to read the extremely common UTF-8 is well beyond me.)
