Exporting content (from non-WordPress site) but cannot access database

  • I have a client who wants to move their existing non-Wordpress site over to a new WP install and design. All well and good except…

    …their existing web designer is being very uncooperative and won’t release access to the current database. So I cannot get any form of SQL/XML/CSV/RSS output to work with to import their existing content.

    Does anyone know if there is any other way of getting hold of large batches of posts without painstakingly copying, pasting and recreating them as some luckless chap in my client’s office is presently trying to do!?
