Using Polylang with https://www.art-treasures-gallery.com which uses the Weaver Extreme theme.

We tried a number of language plugins and found Polylang did exactly what we needed.

We have an interim translation solution running until we translate the key pages.

Under Settings | Languages | String translations, I’ve got over 20 pages of translations. These are mainly NGG description and alttext strings. I’ve been laboriously copy and pasting the English into a text file so my colleagues can translate the English to Mandarin.

Is there an easy way of exporting the String translations in the order they appear. Nice to have would be the Group, Name and Translation string flags.

Once I have the translations I can sit and copy and paste the Mandarin translations back into the Settings | Languages | String translations (saving each page!)

    best regards

    Peter

    Hi!

That should be possible if you have some PHP skills. Strings are stored in DB as a custom post (of post type ‘polylang_mo’). Each post contains all the strings for one language. The strings are serialized in the post content. However only the original strings and the translated strings are available in DB. Groups and names are not stored.

    Hi Frédéric
    Unfortunately no PHP knowledge:-(
I’ll continue with the cut and paste option for now. Maybe you could add the export to file of the String translations to the PolyLang wish list

    Many thanks

Yes, that’s a good idea. I will add this to my (long ?? ) todo list.
