• Dear Experts
I’m a bit of a newbie at this, but I very much hope that you can help.

I developed my WP website on a local server (DesktopServer). When finished I changed the .dev extentions to .co.uk and so naturally I can’t now open this locally. I have been asked to supply the WP site in an .sql.zip format for hosting the site online…Please note I do not have phpMyAdmin installed, also I can not chose a different host provider.

Can anyone please tell me how I can create a .sql.zip format? (I know how to create a zip file so I suppose I need to create the site in .sql format????)

Thank you very much in advance.
    Steve

  • Hi Steve,

If you installed wordpress and worked on local server then it must have software/utility to access the database you created for the purpose of working on wordpress if not phpmyadmin, look in to your server documentation to find that out.

Usually if working with WAMP or XAMPP it typically has phpmyadmin to do all that, since you changed site extension now it wont work, until you get access of database and change “site_url” to new extension.

    THanks
