    Hi,

    I’ve this ticked
Allow customers to checkout without a PayPal account using their credit card,
and it is set to ON in PP account, still I am required to create an PP account when I checkout.

I’ve wp 4.0 and woo 2.2.4 Been searching but cannot find anything related, any workaround or fix you know of to pay without creating an account?

Also, I have some free reports, how can I skip the PP button on the product pages when it’s free? Any snippet or other tricks you know of?

    Thanks in advance.
    Dennis

  • Like I said, pranavd2008, I want the customer to have a radio button option to Pay with PayPal, along with other payment options. You must not have viewed the image I provided. The option to pay with PayPal isn’t included when using PayPal express – only when using PayPal Standard. The buyer has to scroll to the top of the checkout page and click on the PayPal button. It’s probably a woocommerce issue, not this plugin.

@pw EDEN, the placement of the Express Checkout button is by design in the plugin. One of the primary benefits of Express Checkout is that your buyers don’t have to fill out the checkout form, so they wouldn’t be scrolling back to the top…they would simply never scroll down. All you have to do is click the button to get straight into checkout. No filling out forms, so conversion rates typically go up. This is why you have the option to display the EC button on product pages, too. From there they could even skip the cart page, checkout page, and everything. They’d go straight into purchase directly from the product page.

That said, I have had lots of requests to add it into the regular payment gateway options on the checkout page like you’re asking about. As such, I’ve added an option into the plugin so you can choose whether to have the button at the top, at the bottom with the regular gateway options, or both.

This isn’t yet included in the current 1.1.5 release, however, it is already completed in my development repo. If you go there and download that zip file, then upload it to replace your current plugin files it’ll give you the new option. It’s not the official release yet, but it has been fully tested.

When 1.1.6 is released it will include that as well as a few other things, and then 1.2 later will be a big update with lots of new stuff.

@pw EDEN Look Developer already told that, paypal express button at top of checkout is for benefit only & it’s because of plugin, not the woocommerce.Paypal express is used for digital goods so there is no need of following full checkout process & collect shipping address….Top button is for seller benefit only,I Still Don’t Know Why you having problem with it.As developer that standard checkout button will be added in next update,so you can follow developer instructions

@angelleye Thank you for your help. Appreciated.

    @ angeleye

    Hi there,

First of all congrats for your great job, altogether.
Amazing product & amazing service & support!

I was facing the same issue with the Nigerian language & followed your solution to remove substr(WPLANG, -2) from /wp-content/plugins/paypal-for-woocommerce/classes/wc-gateway-paypal-express-angelleye.php.

When I removed it, the language switched to my local language (Greek) and the option to pay without PP account was possible.

However, a few hours later the option to pay without PP account was not active any longer & it still does not appear – although the language is still the correct one (Greek).

Any idea what can have gone wrong and it disappeared again?

    @andyefth,

Did the pages look the same? It sounds like you may be seeing the different versions of PayPal checkout pages. They have an “old” and a “new” version that they have been split testing for a while now, so sometimes you see one or the other.

The old version displays the full credit card form if you have guest checkout options setup. The new version still provides credit card checkout, but it doesn’t show the whole form by default. There’s just a button that says “Pay with Credit Card”.

Is that what you’re seeing or is it something else?

By the way, if you have a moment to leave a similar comment in our reviews that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    @angelleye

Thanks a lot for your (very prompt!) response.

If this is an A/B test, shouldn’t I be able to see the “new” version (allowing payment without PP account) in other terminals? Because I have tried several ones (mine, wife’s, sister’s, etc, from mobile phines, laptops, tablets), but I never get to see the “new” version.

Also, is there a way to offer option for payment by credit card without PP account when showing the “old” version?

    Once again, thanks a lot!
(I also left my rating & comment)

    @andyefth

Maybe I’m confused about what you’re seeing. The old version is actually the one that more prominently displays the credit card option.

Can you provide some screen shots of what you’re seeing so I have a better idea?

    Hi again,

Just emailed a screenshot from what I see.

When you have a chance, can you plz check it?

    Thanks again!

Just responded to that. We can continue discussion there.

    Hi @angeleye,
I have been using your plugin on a couple of websites for a few months now, and the plugin is simply great!
I have faced some issues, such as the nigerian one, and your fixes have been great. I am now facing another issue with Paypal ‘Check out as a guest’. When purchases are from the UK then there is no issues whatsoever, however when orders come from france then customers do not have the option to check out as a guest but have to create an account.
The issue seems to have happen with the last updates.
I hope you can help. I am happy to give you more details if necessary.
    Thank you

As long as all of the settings are configured the way they need to be for Guest Checkout to work then it should still be working fine. Nothing in the update affected that functionality.

You may need to make sure to simply save the settings page for Express Checkout in the plugin, though. There are some new features that were added, so you should go in there, review the options and make sure they’re setup how you want, and then click Save (even if you don’t make any adjustments, still click Save.)

That will ensure that everything is in place the way it needs to be. If it continues to work fine for most people but not certain buyers in certain countries then that is just PayPal’s system overriding it. They simply do not allow all buyers in all countries to use the guest checkout feature.

    Thank you for your reply.
Is it possible that I ticked something that disable the system?
I have done the setup the way I thought would work for me then save as you said but still no luck.
I understand about not everyone being able to access guest checkout, but this morning I could but now it doesn’t.

In the Express Checkout settings do you have the Landing Page set to Billing? Make sure that it is. Also, make sure the “Use WordPress Locale Code” option is disabled.

Yes, Billing is on and Locale Code is disabled.
    It is just very strange.
Here are all the ticked options:
    Error Email Notifications
    Cart Page
    PayPal Account Optional
Send line item details to PayPal
