extend widget class in plugin

Hi,
just to be sure – you want to build a new widget, right? And you don’t want to alter the wp core files, right?

if that is true than you can initialize new widget in your plugin by utilizing ‘widgets_init’ hook as shown here: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Function_Reference/register_widget

so there is no need to access core file.
