Extending categories from posts to pages

Is there a plugin which works for 2014 which allows pages and posts to share categories?

I use catlist for subdisplay of news posts but would like to include relevant pages.

I use pages for sponsors because pages supports full-width template alternative format. Posts only support one template. I wish I had full page format or ability to conditionally not include standard sidebar.

A couple of issues all kind of wrapped up in the same pot so to speak.The site is news and vendor trade group industry site so multiple companies at multiple levels are represented (in multiple ways). kioskindustry.org
