If I understand correctly, you’re talking about the trial admin notice? If so, did you try clicking the “Dismiss” link of the message to hide it?

@user325 Just a heads up, if the plugin author asks to login into anyone’s site then they will risk getting into real trouble here. That’s going to far and the author is aware of that.

@ratingwidget I’ve deleted your offer to login to your user’s site. I’m am 100% sure you mean well but please never ask for credentials on these forums.

    https://www.ads-software.com/support/guidelines/#the-bad-stuff

Now for the why: The internet is a wonderful place full of very nice people and a few very bad ones. I’m sure everyone here is very nice however, by giving some ones keys to your house you are trusting they wont steal anything. Likewise the person who takes the keys is now responsible for the house FOREVER.

If something was to go wrong, then you the author may well legally become liable for damages, which they would not normally have been as their software is provided without warranty.

Please be aware that repeatedly asking for credentials will result in us asking you to repeatedly stop before escalating up to the plugins team.

There are many ways to get information you need and accessing the user’s site is not one of them. That’s going too far.

    You get the idea.

Volunteer support is not easy. But these forums need to a safe place for all users, experienced or new. Accessing their system that way is a short cut that will get you into real trouble in these forums.

@jdembowski thanks for the note though I never asked to share the credentials in this forum. If you read my message, I suggested contacting our closed support email. Our support team understands the risks involved in accessing a site, in some cases, this is the most effective way to troubleshoot some issues.

I want to be clear here. I’m not picking on you, I am not being obtuse but this needs to be understood by you and others.

If you are asking, implying, hinting or using psychic powers and/or smoke signals, etc. to send people to your support site to get that access then you are doing it wrong here.

That’s an attempt to side step the forum guidelines. Do not do that.

If that is too much a support burden here then please consider contacting the plugins team via [email protected] and ask them to close your plugin here. It’s that serious.

No one is forced to provide support here. No company is required to host any plugin or theme here. But if you are going to host your plugin here that then you are going to comply with the forum guidelines. That part is in the plugin guidelines too.

@ratingwidget I’ve archived your latest reply: You really are not getting it. Stop and read, this is not an argument. This really is not a conversation about what you meant or why you wrote that.

This is a copy of paste of what your wrote originally. Your reply was not deleted, it was archived. Any moderator can still read it in it’s entirety.

Just a heads up, we’ll most likely have to login to your WP Admin to investigate.

That’s not ambiguous. Full stop, read what I wrote. Read the links I posted. You did something here that needed a minor correction. You received it. That’s really all there is to it.

    Again:

If that is too much a support burden here then please consider contacting the plugins team via [email protected] and ask them to close your plugin here. It’s that serious.

If this is unclear then contact the plugins team directly. If you wish to help your user then please do. But do it within the constraints here.
