external links in images

  • I am trying to add an external link to the images on my product pages.

    Example: I have an image in the product description on a page, I am trying to add a link to my add to cart button. Which will link to my shopping cart.

    I have never had any external linking problems with images before until upgrading to 3.0

    I have tried to add the link to my cart through the media library and also via the html editor, however when I save the page and/or the image file it reverts back to the image url instead of saving the external url.

    in the html editor if you delete the rel=attachment and then overwrite the image url with your link url and then save it everything works like a charm.

    Too bad this problem exists in these newer versions of WP, I hope they fix this in future updates.
