External Media shortcode incorrectly using Permalink instead of File URL
-
Since upgrading to WP 4.0 and JW for WP plugin versions 2.1.2-.8, I’ve spotted that the shortcode generated when inserting “External Media” (in my case RTMP from my media server) it is inserting the Media permalink, rather than the File URL.
I can see that this is the case by reviewing the source of the page it is inserted into. See my DropBox hosted screenshot here… https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/62195438/jwplayer-rtmp-shortcode-bug.png
Note: I am following the normal WordPress “Add Media -> Add External Media” process as before the upgrade. Then pasting the generated shortcode into a custom field in the post. The theme then inserts this into the published Post.
The workaround I have found is to manually include the file=”” value into the shortcode. Which also seems to support the idea that the automatically generated file location is wrong.
I’m guessing this is probably a bug in JWURLImportManager.php which is resulting in it using the media’s Permalink, rather than File URL?
