External service … write that into the description, guys!

  • Plugin description is misleading. The Plugin does nothing before it’s connected to an external service, that requires payment for >200 links. So actually it’s not a Broken Link Checker plugin at all, it’s a damn bait for a paid link checker service.

    Thanks for the valuable feedback! You are absolutely correct, and we’ve added a section to the readme that specifies that Broken Link Checker is a SaaS service.

    Our service is designed to reduce the computational strain on your server (potentially forcing upgrades on shared hosting environments) and to protect your IP address from being blocked due to how the monitoring works.
