• Hi, a client of mine wishes to include information from an external data source, which is provided in a very well-organised xml file. What are my options (if any exist) on getting this feed into WordPress?

Important to note: I don’t need a one-off import option, but for my WordPress site to reflect any and all changes to the xml feed. Also, I’m not duplicating blog content, but showing tabulated data on holiday prices, locations, itineraries etc.

I can imagine this working much like custom fields, except the source of the output would be the xml and not the text fields on the post editing window.

    Thanks

  • Was searching for a way of doing this too, and found this unanswered thread. Does any one know a straight forward way of doing this?

I didn’t find a 100% fit my my specific problem, but Yahoo Pipes comes very close – a great way to include data from a variety of sources. A steep learning curve, but well worth it.
