I have some posts that have paragraphs
<p class=”poem”>Content</p>.
Some <p>Content</p>
When I choose “Full content” I get a <br> character between each paragraph. Thus:
<p class=”poem”>Content</p>
<br>
<p class=”poem”>Content</p>
<br>
<p class=”poem”>Content</p>

Same happens for “Rich content” and “simple text”.

I have posts that have no html, just lines of text, and these lines get <br><br> inserted between each line.

Content of the post:
melted the butter first, one hundred grams;
put four smallish eggs and one hundred twenty grams of sugar
into a bowl and whisked away

What is displayed (html):
<p>melted the butter first, one hundred grams;<br><br>put four smallish eggs and one hundred twenty grams of sugar<br><br>into a bowl and whisked away

Some posts display as I would expect, the same as they display in the post. Others have these extra <br>. I can’t see anything on the post itself that can predict if it will display correctly or not.

What can you suggest?
