Extra capability field and custom role

    I have a custom user role created that shares manage_options. I want to have a menu item visible only to admins, so I added Extra capability field for edit_plugins, which I know the custom role doesn’t have. The menu item shows anyway. In my case only the required capability works, and the extra one doesn’t seem to be working.
    Any ideas?

    Is it a top level menu? If so, you’ll need to add the same extra capability to all of its submenu items. A top level menu will stay visible as long as it has at least one accessible item.

    Yes, it was the top menu and I had not added the capability to submenu items. Will do so, thanks!
