Extra field input still shows up after clearing it

  • I created an extra field asking users to reconfirm their email address. I essentially labeled it “reconfirm your email address”. I ran a test and discovered that the form still went through although the email addresses entered do not match. I looked further into it and discovered that this form already has the capability to do what i wanted by checking a box to ask twice for the email. i checked it and then deleted the extra field i had created earlier to reconfirm email addresses. Here are my 2 issues after that:
    1. Right under the “Email address again” label on the form, “reconfirm your email address” also appears. I have already cleared the extra field form and do not understand why it is still appearing. Also under the “fields” section where you can change field labels, “reconfirm your email address” is now stuck as one of the options. I cant remember 100% but earlier before i discovered the ask twice check box, i may have typed “reconfirm your email” into the “E-mail address again” change field label box. How do i fix this issue?

    2. That check box to ask for the email address twice has now disappeared. If i want to remove this feature is this no longer possible?

    I know i can just delete and create a new form but i thought maybe this were bugs the author would like to know about or maybe i am just blind and cant see where to fix these errors. Thanks.

  • The setting is:
    “Enable double e-mail entry required on contact form”
    It is located in the E-Mail: section just under the “Optional E-mail Subject List”

    If you change a label by adding your own replacement and want to reverse that, just delete the replacement label.

    If you have settings that do not take or re-appear the way they were before, it could be this problem

    That double email setting that was not there before is back now. Maybe it was some sort of server glitch on my side. However, for the second issue, replacement labels have been erased but the status remains the same. I think i will just delete and start fresh. Thanks.

    I deleted the new form and started from scratch. Guess what? That “reconfirm your email” label is still there under the Change field label section. As a matter of fact, i have 5 current forms and all of them now show it in their change field label sections. What makes it more annoying is that whenever i now enable the double email check mark, this is what is right above the empty text field:

    E-Mail Address again:*
    Reconfirm your email.

    Looks like i am stuck in some kind of loop. I have triple checked and there is nothing next to any field labels. Any other help you can offer?

    You may have a Cache plugin, go to the settings for your Cache plugin and empty the cache.

    If you need more help, can you post a link to your form?

    No cache plugin installed. Unfortunately i cant link to the site as it is not publicly available. If you can think of something else, let me know. If not, i will work around it somehow. Thanks.

    If its that, then i will just look for a workaround. 80% of whats on that link is Greek to me. Thanks again.
