Extra Moderation Features

  • I’ve got a few trolls on my site whos IP address have been placed into the comment moderation box.
    Only problem now is that I can’t remember why they are on auto mod. Is it possible to add comments to the end of each ip, eg
    123.12.453.13 #right wing nutter
    542.525.1.45 #keeps posting the same thing over and over again.

    Also it seems that for messages that have been moderated and I don’t want to appear on my blog, I need to either Delete them, which means I can’t keep a record, or leave them in Moderation, which then makes the queue very large, and also as it’s a team blog we can’t be sure if someone has decided to block it. Would it be possible to have some kind of SinBin queue in which comments we don’t want to appear on the site could go into without being deleted?

  • Sounds like something for the “ideas” section. I have a guy who kept posting enormous pieces of text under an article and I told him to get his own website some place. Most of his comments I also put back in moderation, but it would be nice to be able to keep them in some other way indeed.
