Extra thumbs in media library are not picked up

Dear developers,
I have “Optimize other thumbs” checked and hoped that the plugin can pick up additional images generated by a theme and stored along the originals as
wp-content/uploads/2019/05/<name>-uai-300x200.jpg(and alike) but this did not happen. The original filename iswp-content/uploads/2019/05/<name>.jpg.
This naming convention is from this rather popular and well sold theme.The plugin did however pick up some other unregistered thumbnails, e.g.
<name>-50x33.jpgand alike.I think it’s almost perfect for what I need — compress thumbnails generated by a theme while having interface to exclude original full size images (using
size:filter) that I resize manually, but it does not work ;-(It would be great if you could provide a regex to pick up extra thumbs. Or extend your search so that for each file
<name>.jpgthe plugin searches and converts everything it can find that is called<name>whateverelse.jpg. But regex would be a cleaner solution.Also dry run (which only reports files to be processed without doing anything) would have helped to setup regex properly and double check that conversion will happen on right files. It’ a unfortunate that I apparently waisted processing 70 files, whereas around 50 of them are left-over thumbs I did not even know about.

The ‘-uai’ part comes from a 50k users theme https://themeforest.net/item/uncode-creative-multiuse-wordpress-theme/13373220Unfortunately the naming convention is hard-coded on their side. That, understandably, leads to incompatibility with most image optimization plugins. They recommend only EWWW https://support.undsgn.com/hc/en-us/articles/214003845-Adaptive-Images here.
It would be great if ShortPixel could somehow cover this case (optional setting to specify how thumbs are picked up?), and perhaps gain some extra users as a result.

DenisOk, if anyone will come across this post, I think I am getting somewhere by adding custom image editor that will adhere to the thumbnail convention used in the theme. The following links are useful:
If I do that, ShortPixel will pick now registered thumbs and do optimization as needed.
The issue can be closed.
@shortpixel I am discussing this issue with theme authors, they ask whether ShortPixel could pick up ‘image-123×456-uai.jpg’ as an alternative naming convention for unregistered thumbs on their side?
Alternatively, perhaps you could provide a PHP function hook to override logic for picking up unregistered thumbs based on filename. I would say the function return boolean based on filename of registered image (image.jpg) and a candidate thumb (i.e. image-uai-123×456.jpg).
That would be a very clean solution for all experienced users.
