the resource has two languages installed:
Russian with system code “ru-RU”, and Ukraininan with code “uk”

Plugin add 3 record on every page:

<link rel=”alternate” hreflang=”uk” href=”https://teplonasos.ua/”/>
<link rel=”alternate” hreflang=”ru-RU” href=”https://teplonasos.ua/ru/”/>
<link rel=”alternate” hreflang=”ru” href=”https://teplonasos.ua/ru/”/>

The second and third attributes refer to the same page. They duplicate each other.

How can you get rid of the second hreflang “ru-RU” ?

My plugin is updated to the latest version.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

• Hello there,

Thank you for reaching us!

TranslatePress adds extra region independent hreflang tags, along with region dependent. They point to the same page.
The region independent language tags help search engines provide the correct link to visitors without country specification or with a different country specification than those available.
All this is recommended to be implemented in Google guide for multilingual websites:
https://developers.google.com/search/docs/advanced/crawling/localized-versions

If you see errors about this, they are false-positive.

Regards,

but if they point to the same page, it will be not good for SEO, I checked by SEO Tools, it shows: Hreflang duplicates:
Hreflang tags contain repeatable href values
