• I’d like my home page to work as follows:

My site will be nothing but ‘pages’ of image galleries….and perhaps an ‘about’ page….and maybe a ‘blog’ section of posts. But for now…

I’d like to extract the 1st image from each gallery page and display it on the home page. Kinda like this: MIXCSS.COM.

Except when you click on the thumbnails on that home page, it takes you to the ‘post’ for that single image. Instead, I want mine to open the page and show the rest of the gallery images. I’ll put the images into a carousel of slider/viewer or something.

There’s surely a codex snippet that allows this….right?

    Thanks in advance.

You can see a little of my work here: sanddlife.com
There’s a little flashgallery I’ve added, but you can ignore that for now.

  • What gallery are you using? If you were using something like NextGen Gallery – it comes with bunch of shortcodes that would allow you to do exactly what you are seeking.

Currently not using any specific gallery plugin, but would welcome any capable of doing what I’d like. I’ll check out the NextGen and see what it has.

    Thanks!

    Good luck!

Let us know how you go.
