    Hi people,

I have my website up and running but after some time (without making almost no changes on the website – no new plugins installed, no upgrades, just a slight little changes of the content) – every single image that I’ve uploaded looks extremely pixelated.

    This is how it looks:

I’ve tried to change the settings of a wordpress images compression (by image quality plugin), but this is one is another issue.
So far I didn’t found another thread and article on the web that will adres this unexpected wordpress behavior.

Any clue? I’m having this challenge for over a few weeks now.

Are you using any “image optimizer” plugin. I would first disable that plugin and check if the images get uploaded fine then.

When you upload an image, is it attempting to display at its natural size?

I would also start by disabling the plugins to see what it looks like with naked WordPress. If it corrects, then a plugin is involved. Be sure to upload one with plugins disabled since the existing ones could have already been affected.

    Hello iael,

Sorry for the problem with the image quality of the thumbnails being used in the Media Library. What resolution and size of your original graphic? Make sure to check your Media settings in WordPress. They let you set the size of the thumbnails, medium and large sizes. Try resizing your images down to these sizes while keeping the same resolution (dpi). If they look good when you scale them down, then they should be okay in WordPress.

Here’s a good reference for image quality as well:

    Hope this information helps!

    Regards,

    Guys,

thanks for you replies, but this is some kind of a different issue.

@wppatrickk I’m using only image quality plugin but I’ve already tried to disable it. Nothing has changed.

@scott_mi All plugins disabled – still all fresh image uploads are messy.

@arncus I’ve already resized my images to the large size set up in media library, so they are the exact size – and still, I’m getting this pixelated effect and each of them.

It’s kind of strange because as I’ve said – this issue has just poped up out of the blue. I’ve done nothing on the site and here it is – all pics in yummy big ass pixels.
