Extremely SLOW — Admin AND site

  • Hi,

    I have three wordpress websites. They have all been extremely slow since Friday. It takes at least 30 seconds for the site to load and at least that if not longer to access the admin.

    Two of them are new companies and I’m trying to get them updated so I can launch, but the admin is SO SLOW that I cannot even make changes to the site. I have deactivated all plugins except for the Jetpack. Half of the time I will click on the “Pages” tab and it will just go to a white screen.

    My hosting is through Godaddy, and I called to speak with them earlier. Everything is fine on their end.

    Two of the three sites that I’m having the most trouble with:

    1. Atlantaconventionphotography.com
    2. Gwinnetteventphotography.com

    Try installing cache plugins, wp super-cache or w3 total cache.

    You will need to lower the quality of images so that there remains a balance between view and size.

    You can minify your js and css by using online minifying programs. You can also use google’s jquery libraries instead of loading them from your server.

    You can also install jetpack which hosts images on cdn, making them preferably fast to load.

    check pingdom.com to test the load time by experimenting

    Hi, thank you. Would this be the problem as to why my admin won’t load? It takes so long to get the admin screen up and half the time goes to a blank screen when I hit the plugin button. Not sure how I can make the suggested updates when I can barely access admin. Very frustrating.
