In general the entire site is really slow, not just the page with Connections on it. In fact the directory page is faster than the home page:

Things I see from a few minutes looking…

I would disable the CSS/JS minification of in W3TC. My experience is that the processing of those files are slower than the multiple HTTP requests they create. Of every server setup is different so it might be doing you could. Just take the time to analyze performance with it both on and off.

WP Slim Stat seems to be slowing you down too.

Lastly, for the directory, I would not recommend having more than 20 to 40 entries on a page. Seeing you have a larger directory, I highly recommend that you purchase a template which supports pagination. The number is not a Connections limitation, that page load time would longer if you tried to show 100 WordPress posts on a single page too.

    Hope that helps.

It does help so thank you for taking the time.

I figured that the number of entries on one page would be causing a problem but as you say, in metrics terms that page is better than others which I wasn’t expecting.

I’ll try some of your suggestions and see how it goes.

    Thanks again.

Would it be possible to add a “spinning wheel” while the page loads? How would I go about adding this?

    Thanks!
