Ezoic Javascript hurts pagespeed scores

    Dear supporters,

    We successfully installed Ezoic ad system, but now the Javascript they use to display ads is really hurting our PageSpeed scores with -18%. Without the js. we reach 100% easily.

    The warning states “/parsonsmaize/chanute.js uses deprecated APIs”

    I reached out to Ezoic support and they dismiss it or cannot fix it because they cant change the script.

    Even so, I was wondering if there are any ways to keep this Javascript from negatively impacting our pagespeed scores. I understand the tool is far from optimal and we do focus on Core web vitals.

    We can only provide support for WordPress here, we can’t provide support for ad systems.

    If the warning of a deprecated API in Ezoic’s script concerns you, and Ezoic won’t fix it, then I recommend using a different ad system.

    Keep in mind that adding JavaScript will always decrease your score, because there are now more JavaScript elements on your site.

    Hi James, I searched for Ezoic and noticed a bunch of topics so figured it was supported.
