Facebook comment box does not show up

    Hi Team,

    I added your Social comments plugin but I only have a text that says “Facebook Comments Box”. It worked for a little while in Chrome, but since that it stopped work as well. Do you have any advise what should I check?

    We checked your website, it is working fine from our side. Can you clear your browser cache and check it again?

    Also, can you check it with another device as well?

    Hi,

    It seems because I am from EU region and we have stricter cookie policies. Using VPN every browser starts working. W/o VPN it works from Chrome now, but Firefox does not even if I installed a GDPR compliance plugin.

    I think I have to give it up.
    The root cause is the recent Changes to Social Plugins in the European Region:
    https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/comments/

    That means from EU Fb comments will not work if the user is not logged in. Unfortunately after logging in Firefox still does not work. Chrome is ok.
    It’s something on FF side. I tried to add Fb comments manually following the steps on the link above. I tried many different Fb comments plugin as well.

    Just so you know, from EU and with Firefox your demo page also does not work:

    Same problem.

    It doesn’t works on mobile or other browsers
    (i think: It only works with a browser that you are logged in to with Facebook)

    Based on your site’s language you are from EU as well.
    I tried many different sites that using Fb comments but none of them worked even with logged in Fb account. Your site is one of them. Your site shows the comments with Chrome but shows nothing with Firefox.
    That’s disappointing.

    Based on your screenshots you are using Chrome. If so, then you are right, it will work only if you are logged in to your Fb account. I am afraid it will not be solved. You can read through the following thread, it’s because the EU GDPR staff.

    FYI, FF solved the issue so now Firefox works the same way as Chrome. If you are logged in you can see the plugin, if not you cannot.
