Using Firefox, I discovered that only the title was showing for a widget unless I allowed tracking of my activities on the website by Facebook/Meta. This is unfortunate. I like Firefox’s ability to block Facebook tracking when I am not on one of Meta’s websites (i.e., Facebook, Instagram, or Messenger). I have no idea whether any other browsers have similar privacy features that Mozilla provides for Firefox with its Facebook Container plug-in. “Allowing” the site “in” the Facebook Container returns the Widget for Social Feeds to normal behavior. Of course, I want to have my cake and eat it, too. I don’t want to subject my visitors to spying by Facebook/Meta just so I can share a Facebook feed on a website my I manage, but apparently that’s inadvertent consequence of using Milap’s nifty widget. If anyone sees a way around this, I’d like to know how.

    Dear @tedfranklin,

I understand your point here but it has nothing to do with how my plugin works. My plugin doesn’t track any data whatsoever.

You can contact either Mozilla or Facebook/Meta for your concern.

    Dear @milap,

I agree entirely that it is not the fault of your plugin which is an excellent contribution to the WordPress community. It is Facebook/Meta that forces the issue. Mozilla merely offers an opportunity to opt out of spying by Facebook/Meta. Facebook/Meta insists on planting spyware that appears to track every move of people who visit our website; it’s not apparently limited to actions within the Facebook social feed. Unfortunately, there is no realistic or effective way to contact Facebook/Meta, nor would they care. This is precisely their business model. I want to make it clear to anyone who comes across this exchange that your plugin is not to blame for Facebook/Meta’s intrusiveness. Thank you again for your work.
