  • I’m having the same problem!

I had the same problem and firstly updated the plugin as I had an older version and noticed that they had last updated the plugin a week before. This did not solve the problem and the new version asked me to agree to the new Terms of Service. I got alerts in the interface saying that certain functionality can only be used if you agree to the T.O.S., which I did, but still the counter was 0.

By the way, their new T.O.S. is discussed on other threads, like this one or this one.

Anyway, I ended up using a different plugin, Tweet, Like, Google +1 and Share, which is simple, but does the job. All likes show up correctly now. They are stored in the database, not in the plugin files.

Thank God I’m not the only one! Sometimes my pinterest pins show and the occasional G+, but FB has reset to 0 and isn’t counting any new shares.

It looks like the issue was caused by a change in the Facebook API, described here, so this plugin needs to be updated to use the 2.7 Facebook API version. Until this fix is live, I doubt that the counter will work.

Thank you Alexandra for the link. Reading that tread i think this will be the problem.

    having the same problem

i guess everyone is having the same problem….
even the plugin’s website says 0 likes..
is there any news from the devoloppers if they are going to solve it soon or we should search for alternatives?

I’m having the same issue too… Hope the author of the plugin will quickly update it in order to repair the “0 everywhere” Facebook likes…

    Hi all,

Thank you for reaching out and reporting on this issue.
The engineering team is currently looking into this and hopes to have a resolution for this soon.

In the meantime, if you have any additional feedback please let us know!
We hope to get this situated soon.

    Hi!

I lost many thousands of shares for many posts on my website. This post had more than 2400 shares:
    https://www.angesgardiens.net/enfin-une-preuve-de-l-existence-des-anges-les-orbes-les-scientifiques-sy-interessent/

    Is it a joke?

At some point in the coming days, SharedCount’s feed of Facebook data has ended due to changes in Facebook’s API that shut off the REST API and required authenticated, rate-limited access.

We had thought we had a good plan for mitigating this problem — that we could continue to serve Facebook data even after this API would change. Over the past few weeks, despite working furiously to try to preserve it, it became clear we were wrong, and that we will soon fail to provide a core part of our service.

I’m therefore saddened to announce the following changes:

Facebook’s APIs no longer be serve via SharedCount. Those data points will return null in the API, or 0 for people using older endpoints.
SharedCount will take no new customers.
SharedCount is entering an API deprecation period, with a final shutdown date at some point after April 1, 2017. We will announce a full deprecation plan in the coming months as the cost model of shutdown becomes clearer, but will take extra steps to try to ease the transition.
For customers on Annual plans will be converted to Monthly plans of equal effective monthly value, and will receive an email detailing the change.
Customers who cancel their plans and seek refunds retroactive to the Facebook API shutdown date will receive them.

We tried as hard as we could to make SharedCount work as a product at scale, but as we’ve seen with more and more networks closing off their APIs and discontinuing open reporting capabilities, the era of the share count is coming to an end.

We’re sorry it has come to this point.

    Thanks.

    I’m having the same problem!
It was REALLY HARD to engage with my audience and having people sharing my content, and now this plugin wong show any shares at all while JetPack is actually working fine.
    This is SO sad.
Are you guys ever going to fix this? I like this plugin but if its not working, i don’t care if it looks nice.
How do i update API key?

    Hi.

This quote is it true or not?

If is true, why do you said this:

    I don’t understand…

The problem lasted for 3 weeks and 3 days! It’s very long time!

I lost all my shares! Thousands and thousands of shares! I worked very hard for my visitors share my posts! I work for that since two years…

And you, what do you do? You do not even have the courtesy to respond my questions… You do not care to people what I see…

I’m really angry! Really angry. I’m not sad like sofipress, I’m angry! Do you understand what that means? I have very good reasons to be angry. Give me a solution to recover all my shares, now! I said, all my shares! You know what I mean?!

There is 40 000 visitors per month on my website and more than 10 000 persons listed on my newsletter. Can you imagine the disastrous consequences for sharing all my posts? That seems to have no interest to share my posts because a big-big-big 0 appears for all my posts on my website!
Because you and only you are not working on this miserable bug on this plugin, I lost all my work.

@angesgardiens You can try using a different plugin until the issue is sorted. I changed it soon after the problem occurred and my likes have been showing up correctly since then. As I was previously mentioning on this thread, removing the plugin does not remove the counts. The plugin simply displays the numbers. Hope this helps.

    Hello @alexandradraghici

Yes, I read your previous answer and after it, I tried other plugins (many plugins) but they did not recover the exact number of facebook sharing and counter was not displayed.

    What plugin do you use?

    Thank you for your help.
