Sorry for the delay. Since you had replied to your own thread, it escaped our notice. We don’t have any special notifications to let us know if things are unanswered, so it wasn’t intentional.
Sometimes, if your post hasn’t published properly or there’s some other delay in the posting process – which sounds like you had some odd behavior when you were making that post – Facebook doesn’t properly cache your posts information on their end, which can cause that delay in the social counts not updating properly.
I checked your site today, and the share count seems to be showing up properly now for the Edwards post, so Facebook must have refreshed it’s cache of your site in the interim: https://d.pr/i/QFb9
With your Danzig post, there seemed to have been an error in the scrape information from the post permalink on Facebook. When Publicize sends out the information to social networks, we send the post ID URL – e.g. example.com/?p=1234
instead of example.com/my-new-post
– and that post ID URL will redirect to the actual post permalink. I ran the post ID through Facebook’s Debug tool, and there was an error in the scrape information – which is why there wasn’t any counts showing up on the share buttons. I refreshed the scrape for that post ID and now the counts are showing up properly.
We’re not sure how this issue occurs – it could be slow loading posts, caching issues, etc. – but the errors and the fix are on Facebook’s end.
If you see that error again, check the post ID URL in Facebook’s tool and if there’s an error, just request a rescrape and that should fix it.
I hope that helps! Marking as resolved.
