Facebook for Woocommerce configuration error
-
Every time I tried to configure Facebook for WooCommerce I got this error ‘Admin Permission Required’ https://i.is.cc/1PQZaeus.png. I am an administrator of the Business Manager account and all related properties. Started asking help in this forum several months ago, the response I got is ‘create your own topic’. Don’t know how this would help. I create this new topic, hope the plugin support people understand their product now.

Howdy ??
This is something that will need to be corrected on the Facebook end of things. If you require assistance with that, please do reach out to the Facebook support team.
I have done it. Facebook said it is a woocommerce issue. Because plugin owners don’t understand their product, each one point to the other. This confirm my belief that the plugin supports don’t really understand the plugin. No wonder this issue is not resolved after all this time.
Facebook said it is a woocommerce issue
Issues with WooCommerce can be viewed here: https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/issues
Issues with the Facebook for WooCommerce extension can be viewed here: https://github.com/fbtransfer/facebook-for-woocommerce/issues
I am unable to find an open issue for this in either of those places. Can you please help us understand which specific issue that Facebook claims this is caused by?

@wbrubaker.a11n, I was told in this forum to start my own topic as if the issue will be resolved if I do, only to find this kind of response, clearly indicating your incompetence. You are good as nothing.
Hi @maslzr
I understand your frustration.
Every time I tried to configure Facebook for WooCommerce I got this error ‘Admin Permission Required’ https://i.is.cc/1PQZaeus.png. I am an administrator of the Business Manager account and all related properties.
Okay, that’s really odd.
The solution for this is to reset everything on Facebook for Woo and then try to reconnect.
To do that we need to manually empty the data used for the previous connection to Facebook.
Please go to
https://yoursitedomain.com/wp-admin/options.php
and then search the following fields, and empty each field value then scroll down to click the save button.wc_facebook_external_business_id
wc_facebook_system_user_id
wc_facebook_business_manager_id
wc_facebook_commerce_merchant_settings_id
wc_facebook_page_access_token
wc_facebook_page_id
wc_facebook_pixel_idThen please try to reconnect!
Let me know how it goes.
Please kindly create a separate forum thread so we can focus on a case at a time.
Hi @solstudioim, I have checked all the Settings in https://yoursitedomain.com/wp-admin/options.php, actually only one item has values in the fields, it is wc_facebook_external_business_id, https://i.is.cc/25YvIlKs.png, https://i.is.cc/25YyAKyx.png, all the rest have empty boxes. This one with value cannot be deleted. You delete it and save, you come back, the value is still there. I will keep on trying, think it is the connection. But I wonder if it would help with only one if I can delete it.
Hi @solstudioim, I tried to delete the values again many times but failed, the same thing happen. This don’t help at all.
Hi @maslzr thanks for confirming the steps you have already tried. The original error message does suggest a permissions issue, and I haven’t been able to create the same issue on my test installations so next is to try to identify where this is coming from.
You mentioned you have admin rights on the Business Manager account and also on the page.
Can you confirm the business manager itself has ‘Manage page’ access please:
Link to image: https://d.pr/i/tg54hHIf this is configured correctly, then the next step will be to test by creating a new business manager using the setup wizard to see if that is able to resolve the issue:
Link to image: https://d.pr/i/PoleD3This will also help us to verify where this issue is coming from as if you can connect without any error to a new business manager then we can pinpoint this as being something in your existing business manager permissions.
Let us know how this goes and we can help look into this further. Looking forward to your reply.
See settings of Business Manager. All added assets in Business Manager has full page access. https://i.is.cc/2buKMyoM.png, https://i.is.cc/2buS5nwy.png, https://i.is.cc/2buXuf87.png.
About creating a new Business Manager, I don’t know how to make it or is it possible. I tried to search it but I come across this, https://i.is.cc/2bv9WIJo.png.
Hi, @maslzr!
I reviewed the screenshots you’ve provided, and I do see that you should have the necessary permissions now both on the page and on the Business Manager.
From your forum history, I also see that you’ve been having this issue for quite some time now, and I know that it must be getting very frustrating at this point. However, we’ve already gone through all the troubleshooting steps we normally take when it comes to issues like the one you’re experiencing, so I really am sorry to have to ask you to try getting in touch with Facebook again, but this time, through their page specifically for merchant support here:
https://www.facebook.com/help/contact/552096935652452Have you already tried that? If not, please do so. They might need to check if some assets are shared (which we’ve seen can cause permission issues), and in that case, they’ll be better suited to helping you sort that out.
Hey @maslzr
We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
Thanks,
Hi @dougaitken, I have done everything at Facebook end but they point me back to woocommerce. I can see that both sides don’t understand their product and make each other the excuse of their inability to resolve the issue, worse is marking the issue resolved even if it is known that it is not.

Sorry to see this is still unresolved! The thread was marked solved because we hadn’t heard back yet.
Let’s try a different route. Can you please navigate to Marketing > Facebook > Connection and check the box to Enable Debug Mode? After debug mode has been enable, take the following steps:
1. Disconnect from Facebook and try to setup again
2. After experiencing the permissions error, navigate to WooCommerce > Status > Logs and locate the most recent Facebook log from the dropdown, then view it.
3. Paste that log in a reply here.Looking forward to hearing from you ??
