Facebook Icon won't go away

Tried the plug-in, but it isn’t working correctly. If all the items are turned off except for mail, the Facecrack icon stays on. There doesn’t appear to be any way to remove it. I even tried creating a one-pixel file to try to force it to not appear, but all that achieved is removing the ‘f’ and leaving the blank tile floating.
